Feet shod with preparation for the gospel of peace. First, think about the importance of feet. They are our mode of transportation, and with good shoes, they will not get injured and we will be able to speedily complete any assignment we are given. I think the amount of time we take to prepare for the gospel and to integrate it into our lives is important because as we read our scriptures, pray, and trust in The Lord (all ways we can prepare for the day), we will be better able to rise to action quickly.
Look! The shield has the tree of life on it! ;)
Finally, the helmet of salvation. As we keep the plan of salvation of utmost priority, we will be able to have eternal perspective. After all, we are driven by our heads, so we may as well have our head protected and guided by a loving Father's plan for us.
Alright I'm glad to be done with that. ;) tomorrow will be the fun part: the weapons :)
I'm so grateful for all the protection we have in this gospel, and for the peace and comport I feel from the Spirit everyday.

All of the armor is really cool. And that picture of the shield was AWESOME. :D
ReplyDeleteWasn't it the best! Totally coincidental. I'm lucky I found it!
DeleteI love the shield of faith too! It makes me happy to think about how much they really do protect us.
ReplyDeleteMosiah 2
20 I say unto you, my brethren, that if you should render all the thanks and praise which your whole soul has power to possess, to that God who has created you, and has kept and preserved you, and has caused that ye should rejoice, and has granted that ye should live in peace one with another—
21 I say unto you that if ye should serve him who has created you from the beginning, and is preserving you from day to day, by lending you breath, that ye may live and move and do according to your own will, and even supporting you from one moment to another—I say, if ye should serve him with all your whole souls yet ye would be unprofitable servants.
We are unprofitable servants, yes, but He loves us so much and "Remember the worth of souls is great in the sight of God" (D&C 18:10), so not only do they protect us, but He "lends us breath" every moment of our lives. Amazing to think about :)
So true. I love that.
DeleteThinking about how we are unprofitable servants is kinda scary, because there is so much we need to improve. But you're right, we are of infinite worth, and through Jesus Christ we will be able to do all things.
This has always been one of my favorite scriptures. Thank you for explaining it so beautifully! Great post!
